Design of product and brand

Assignment
Pivotion AB manufactures products for boating and outdoor leisure pursuits under the brand name Pivotion. The basic concept is to identify simple solutions to everyday problems with boats or nature with products that can be used directly, without having to be installed using tools or other adaptations. All products are based on the equipment supplied as standard on most boats. The design, function and materials are permeated by no-compromise Swedish quality.

Description
Yellon has been working with Pivotion since the start in 2007. Their products were launched on the market in early 2008. The concept for the basic product, the Pivotion Cup, was developed during a fishing trip. When the fish started biting, the boat rocked and all the coffee in their traditional mugs was spilt all over the floor. And so the cogitating began. This solution is based on a pivot principle. As the name indicates – a mixture of the words “pivot” and “motion” – Pivotion products move with the boat. The product range includes a cup for all kinds of drinks and a bracket, RailGrip, with a quick-action grip and several different accessories. The basic concept is shared by all their products: what you want should always be on hand when you need it, but it should never be in your way.

The entire Pivotion assignment is based on a common theme developed on the basis of the pivot principle. You can see it in everything, from the logo and design to the actual basic principle for the product range. As well as being handy for use on boats, it is also ideal for use out in the forest where it can be hard sometimes to find a flat surface to put your cup on. You simply hang the Pivotion Cup over a branch. This cup, which is easy to hold – even for children – is made from a UV-resistant material approved for use with foods. The Pivotion RailGrip, the bracket with a quick-action grip, is attached directly to a pulpit or tubular rail using an eccentric lock. Accessories are hung on using a snap lock that permits rotation through 360 degrees. So the unit is not installed permanently; the idea is, as we said, for you to be able to take both the cup and the bracket and accessories with you wherever you happen to need them at any particular point in time.
