This building is like an oasis in the heart of one of the most rapidly expanding areas in the centre of Jönköping, along what is going to be the pedestrian are from Hamnkanalen to the shopping centre in the Atollen district. The glass pavilion is abstract and directionless, an exercise in free form, with a floating ceiling made from perforated, backlit sheet metal. Visitors should perceive the café as a stand of trees. The organic shapes on the ceiling, glass walls and floor covering should allow people to make associations with abstract trees, with pillars used as treetrunks. The ceiling is perforated with 3.5 million tiny holes where the light can stream in, just like through foliage.
